Guys I have a problem I have my male ram in my q-tank , medicating for Popeye and I just realized the Heater broke I have just put a heating pad under him hoping it will bring the temp back up into at least the yellow, he's got it real bad and he's already stuggling I think this temp drop is going to finish him off Any other ideas to warm him up ? I can't get to a store now

Is it hot where you are? Maybe you can turn up the heat, or even try to use a space heater. make sure the openings are closed in the tank,

we don't have the heat on in the house and all my tanks need the heaters, I would hate to make Fireball cold but he's the only one that really could go with out it right ?
Anymore ideas? and thanks for answering so fast ;D

well, you could put the heating pad on fireballs and add warm water when it starts to drop, a healthy fish can handle it better then a sick one ;D

not a bad idea but it's going on 8pm here and I won't be able to add warm water while I am sleeping lol. But I think you're right about him handling it better then my Ram.
If you think of anything else let me know and thanks again ;D

Oh no, I just looked at him and now he's got hairy fuzzy sitting on his eye, I think it might be time to euthanize him, I have been treating him for over a week.

no, don't you have a breeding net? Put him in the warm tank and put him in the net. that will help. What does he have? Is there a light on the tank? Turn it on, and turn the rooms light on.

I have a breeding plastic cage, no net (another item on my list now) he has no light just the sunshine but that's down now. If I put him in a warm tank how do I treat him? I don't want to put him down so I am trying everything, you have great ideas He has a severe case of Popeye, started off not so bad but as the weeks gone it's gotten worse

can the cage be put in the tank? I would put him in the cage with the tanks water in it, (the tank he's in now) then I'd put him in the other tank. you can move him the day you get the heater.
