how do i tell when they pick a turf? Cody has adapted very well to the rough waters of the 5 gallon, better than my fiery young patriot. Patriot keeps playing around, swim through the current, turn around, dart between the thermometer and the wall, repeat OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN! lol.

LOL, my betta hides behind the heater for like a few seconds, darts under the bridge, moves around the big yellow plant swims behind the filter and goes infront of it, sinks down and back to the heater! I wish i could play follow the leader with him, he seems to have fun ;D Well anyways, the best way to find his turf is to go near the tank when the lights are out and you see him floating near a plant or something, thats his turf, thats where he likes to be when sleeping.

Start it ASAP. The earlier you start the more balanced out it is

ok, thanks, I am ordering a opaque halfmoon betta when my tank is cycled, which shouldn't take long considering I will be using, tank water and already used tank gravel and a plant from the main tank

Blah! LOL I like Opaques' Why? I have no idea but they have that pearly white look to 'em and it looks cool, all bettas are cool, i like the finnage of a Betta smaragdine, I want a HM Smaragdina, cause they're less weighed down by the finnage.
