I know its awful.. but curiosity got the best of me, i had to see if it was such a big deal, because my friends relative feeds his oscar and arrowana dead mice.

It is best not put the link. Usually your board will end up getting screamed at if the owner of the oscar came upon this board...and that his way of keeping fish is too negative of a view to other people.
Personally, I don't feed any live fish or mammals to any of my cichlids. There are numerous reasons why I didn't do that.
Sure my midas eat live fish in the wild, but being in aquarium, this limited clean water if feeding such food to fish.
In aquarim, we rely heavily on filter. Live fish or live mammal can foul the water very quick unless the owner does water change daily. And that will have to be about 20-40% water change base on what size tank.
In the wild, waste get pushed over to the bank and soak up by the soil become nutrient...a way of recycling. Also, in the wild, the area is much bigger than our aquarium. Lake where Midas is found...that place is huge...therefore, they can be able to eat live fish and not killed by nitrite and ammonia. Also they have natural rain which clear and clean the lake.
If water not clean enough...the water can cause HITH on fish (especially on oscar) if nitrite and ammonia don't kill the fish first.

honestly, i wouldnt though, because it is an awful video. But the tank they have the oscar in is WAY to small as well. Hey does any one know why goldfish can live in bowls? because i had one a long time ago, that lived many years in a gold fish bowl

Gold fish doesn't require heater like oscar. They also can live in still water. That's the only gold fish I know of ;D

goldies used to live in murky dirty water, thats why they are so strong, its natural to them not recommended but they lived in it before, but thats when water leveles dropped in forests and stuff.

unfortunatly through extensive breeding to get veils, fancy, orlandas, moors, etc, they are much weaker, and have a higher mortality rate. Ive seen lots of moors and fancy goldfish die only a few weeks after purchase, even in perfect setups

and i love to save to little feeder goldies and raise them in my pond and sell them on the internet to responsible fishkeepers like u not to the lfs to sell to some 5 year old who wants to take the fish out of the water and pet it ( I HAVE EXPERIENECE WITHT THE FISH PETTING THING MY COUSION STILL DOES IT KILLS AT LEAST A FISH EVERYMONTH THEN THEY GO AND BUY ANOTHER ..... idiots) my aunt also rasies them up in an actual dirt pond (no game fish in it we drained and transported them to another pond) and they breed like rabbits in there!!! nad the water stays crystal clear!!!!
