This is a goldfish market in hongkong, they are able to keep their fish in tanks like this because of their massive turnover and their constant water changes. Still wouldn't like to be on the bottom at feeding time. ;D

oh my lord, hmm, i dont think they are constant enough unless there every hour. Thats crazy. How can they even feed fish, and take care of them in that condition. And i thought walmart was bad with overstocking!

They have a turn over like you wouldn't believe. Nearly every chinese family has a fish tank they believe it brings great fortune. so just imagine how many fish get sold each day,

lol...But I feel so sorry for the fish. I wonder how many die every day Suprisenly few from what I hear actually, with thr massive amount of fish they sell and the constant water changes i mentioned above the fish seem to do ok for the short time that they are in the tank.

Blackangel, your lucky we're not at other forums, but anyways, that looks surprisingly similar to the conditions at a Meijers store near my grandfathers house. They have tanks full of fish that don't need to be in there, like 28 yellow labs in a 5 gallon tank or 18 kenyis in a 5 gallon. But anyways, its kinda ironic, people in China and some other asian countries keep goldfish as pets, like Americans do dogs. But In America, we use the good ole goldfish as feeders (which by the way isn't good for the fish)

because you would be hounded for showing that picture. Ppl would be on your back yelling at you for showing that pic, saying that its offensive. Im more lenient on my forum, i dont mind that picture because it gives ppl a chance to debate, and talk about the TRUTHS that happen in other countries. I mean if you showed a pic that was more fiction than the truth, than i may be like, eh, that pic is alittle wrrong, but thats what happens, we have to face the facts

Hey, i'm just showing it as it is, this is a way of life in Hongkong and china, and this is the way they sell their fish, so why would anyone want to hound me? After all they're not my fish and tanks. BTW..The pic was not meant to be offensive, just meant to show how fishkeeping differs in other parts of the world. And one other thing, there are a lot worse pics than this on some of the bigger forums that i have visited.

yeah what rissa said, plus an example of being hounded for something thats not yours is that guy Oscar lover posted something sick (i didn't see don't ask) on the forums (AH) and was thrown out, so I was just pointing out your luckiness for not being in those forums where everybody jumps on you and keeps trying to shove the same old stuff down your throat.....
