Hi everyone. I am new to this site, my name is Gypsy or momwithfish...lol. I am 29, married, and have 2 children ages 11 and 6. I have been keeping fish for about 2 years. (except my betta, I have had for 6 years) I have a 20 gallon which has Zebra danios, red serpae tetras, Neon green moonfish (platies), 2 ghost shrimp, and a mystery snail. I also have a 10 gallon which has an African clawed frog, (he's my favorite) and a mystery snail.

I am sorry I did not reply yesterday, we had a death in the family. My betta, who had been failing for a couple months, passed away yesterday. He was my first fish, his name was Bubbles. I am not sure if we will get another one, my son wants to, but .........I just don't know. It is amazing how attached I was to that little fishy.

Sorry for the loss, well if you don't try to move on then it'll end up destryoing your enjoyment of fishkeeping, its hard but try to move on.at least for your son. Bubbles is that the one that was sick for a while? And the same one I recommended you feed it its favorite food till the time comes? Well its gone to a better place and be happy its not suffering anymore sice you said its health has been failing

Yes ctfishguy, that was the same betta. He was what got me interested in fish.
I think I may hold off on getting another one simply because of space. I have 2 fishtanks going and a leopard gecko tank. If I do get another animal that requires a tank I think I would like to get a turtle. Or maybe a couple little turtles.
And don't worry, I am not "not moving on". Like I said before, he had been failing for a couple of months, not suffering, just failing. So it kinda got to the point that I hoped he would "go" soon, because I could tell he wasn't happy anymore. And I worried he might have "pains" or "aches" and I just couldn't tell.

My female guppy died a few minutes ago. The readings are perfect, no ammonia or nitrItes, 5 ppm's of nitrAtes, I guess I should have acclimated them before adding them in the other tank

Sorry about both of your losses it's never easy whether you had them for years or just for minutes Momwithfish what kind of turtles are you planning on, I have a red Eared Slider and he's already in a 55g and still needs a larger one, I don't want to tell you not to get one but please look into the future size, ours started as a loonie sized turtle, he's now 17years old and bigger then a hamburger (there's a pic of him in Photography posting).
