ok we learned this in school, ok take each piece of equipment that uses electricity and see what the watts are. Than divide the watts by 1000. so if u had 5 watts it would be .005 Kwatts, cause u need to change the watts into killawatts. than how many hours it is used, than the rate of the company. I will do mine. the filter uses 6 watts, the heater is 100 watts, and the hood is 19 watts 125 watts ---------- 1000 =.125 X 24hours(how long it runs) X (the rate of the company, the rate is always in cents) = X how many days in a month= *how much it costs per month to run ur aquarium but im not going any further. So everyone just needs to put there KW, and the rate, because everyone runs there tanks for 24 hours. This is to figure out cost. To figure out how much energy it uses u have to change watts into KWs, so .125 X 24 hours (how long it runs) = 3 KW hours (these are all accurate) than u have to time everything by how long the month is. its easy, mine is like about 120 Kw hours a month
