Using new light...halogen, but I found that it is still not enough to bring out his color. Here's what he looks like when I just setup the light...freaked out. Peeked at me and the light every few secs...to make sure no dangers around. After 5 mins or so...he was pissed off. I mean...really pissed off... And he swam around the tank with his gills flared out the whole time the light was on.

No very different when it comes to taking picture. Fluorescent carries more blue while halogen is more sunlight like.

No very different when it comes to taking picture. Fluorescent carries more blue while halogen is more sunlight like. But Fluoroscent looks brighter, maybe thanks to the blue hue

That's not completely true either ;D Sunlight is always the brightest and gives the best coloration when taking pictures. And since halogen (1000W) is very sunlight like...which helps a whole lot more than fluorescent light. Here's an example. This picture was taken with tank light on...45W...I think. You can see the fish white body isn't white but blue and purple. That's not the color I want This was taken with tank light and spot lights. Still not the color I want. Yes, it looks brighter, but the fish still carries some blue on his body. And this is taken with just halogen light which show his exact colors, but I need to put more light on the top. It will looks better on him
