Breeding: Egglayer Care: Moderate to kinda hard pH: 5.0 - 7.5 Temperature: 68-79 F (20-26 C)
Diet requirements: Herbivore. Provide lots of algae source and foods high in spirulina content, vegetable-based foods. It also consumes diatom.
Sexing: Males are a little smaller and slimmer than females
Breeding: Eggs are laid on plants, rocks, decorations, and substrate, and hatch in a span of about three days. Provide LOTS of algae, spirulina, and liquid food for the fry, and lots of hiding space.
General information: A great algae eater for any kind of small to medium sized environments. Commonly used as an algae eater on tanks, it should be housed with species similar in size and behavior. They can be pretty fragile, so acclimate them for a longer period of time. Also, make sure you have lots of aeration and Filtration, they like all fish need high quality water. As many catfish, they are more active at night.
