Please post disease problems, and profiles, and anything you know about certain diseases, and your experiences, and what meds help treat them, and in general, how to treat them, thank you

Well, unfortunately,my boyfriend came home with 4 goldfish from walmart,in a one gallon tank.Needless to say we lost our last one 4days ago .from what i've learned it was amonia poisoning, along with a variety of other problems.yesterday i thought my red betta had ick and treated him as well as my blue one 4 it.the blue seems fine today, but the red passed away this morning.he started out with white spots which rapidly progressed to all over along with the white strands or whisps that go along with a secondary disease ,like a fungus...I,m still not sure if it was velvet, but it did progress extremely fast.I,ve moved my remaining betta to a one gallon with another ick treatment plus a little extra salt so keep your fingers crossed although i must say he seems back to his old self :'(Hopefully more will learn not to listen to the incompetents that work in chain stores about the care of bettas.

im so sorry feather. YOU ARE SO CORRECT THOUGH, man, they are so stupid at pet stores, i walked into one, and the employee was like "i keep all mine in cups this size and they thrive. They can even be kept in smaller cups. YOu only have to feed them once a week, and they only need water changes once a month etc. "
those poor bettas that went with those people, and i overheard one saying.
" we'll put these 2 in the 1/2 gallon togethor, they will be great friends. "
or something along these lines, she was saying this to her kid. and the employee failed to mention they were siamese fighting fish, everything is labeled betta.

omg for sure....even when i went to buy a half gallon 4 each one he tried to tell me they needed smaller and would be intimidated in a half gallon...i still went with the half and tonight i moved blue into a gallon....i think that perked him up just as much as the meds..he has his big rock to swim throughand a few plants with gravel and marbles...i,m hoping to find a 3 gallon 4 him...big enough so he could have more ornamentation(i've read they love that)and i can tell he does, but small enough so i can continue doing full water changes..which i don't mind doing at all..seriously bettas are like little dogs that live in water...mine loves attention..although now that the red one is gone(i used to put their tanks side by side for awhile every day)i've now got a little mirror for him...but man only 4 a little bit at a time...lol...then he thinks he scared the other one off and can get some sleep..lol

THEY ARE JUST LIKE LITTLE DOGS. Mine come to the front of the glass when I come near, but when any one else does, they dont even pay attention. I have mine in 2 gallons, with ornamentation, and they do love it, i found cody in the tiny little handle of the cup, i was shocked. They always do say at petstores, they dont like big spaces. PSH yea right!
