Featherblu, you cant even keep one goldfish in a 10. They are HEAVY waste producers and need 20 gallons per gold fish. They would need MIGHTY filtration for a 10 gallon. I dont want to be the bearer of bad news, but id stay off of goldfish, unless you have a 20 gallon or more. I had a bad experience with goldfish in 5s and 10s too poor goldie, goldie II, and Fred

Actually rissa, its more like 5 gallons for every inch of Goldfish, and then u use the full grown size of the fish and multiply it by the gallons needed, in this case 3 (gallons) multiplied by the goldfishes size when its full grown which is about 18 inches! So that will be 54 gallons! So a 55 gallon tank will do good for it.

good god...so you couldn't even have 2 in a 10 gallon then...it's to bad...i really adored the goldfish...well i'm just sticking with blu for now...he's the work of ten...and honestly i can't handle another one dying for quite awhile...if i ever get brave again and want to try a community tank maybe you will all help me find breeds that stay fairly small...must be some breed where you could have 4 in a ten gallon? But like i say that's a ways off..got my hands full with this little fella...lol...ty for the info

ty molly...you're a sweetie...like i say if i ever get over the goldies dying i might give it a go again some day...as for now i've got my hands full with blu...lol...looks like blu just might come out the other end ok(i hope and pray)but i'll never get another fish....everrrrrrrrrrrrrrr again without having the appropriate size tank...having it cycled...and having a f**kin clue what i'm doin...lol...to painful to lose them ..it was 5 days in a row and i sat up with each one all night till they passed and balled my eyes out for weeks...lol....don't think i'm tough enough 4 this hobby...but to late now ...i'm addited..do you know i tippytoe by blu late and night when i'm going to the washroom so i don't disturb his rest and the little bugger always knows...comes out lookin ...where's mommy...i know i hear her...he loves it when i sing to him....and i have to feed him his flakes with my finger in so he can show off his shark attack(that is wickedly cute) ;)so i ask you...how could i ever give it up now?lol...the boyfriend says i'll having him swimming with a ball on his nose next...lol
