how long do you think guppies take to have babies? when should I take out the female and put it in her own tank? these questions are so that I know what to do in the future, I just got some guppies today. 1 male and 2 female. the male is so pretty! ;D

leave them in until you notice one (female) get a spot on her belly then put her in a breeders net, or since you have 2 and more then likley they are pregnant you could fill the tank witha lot of plants, for the babies to hide because the female will eat her babies and so wil the others. are there any more fish in the tank? and you could check out the guppy breedign profile it might help. good luck

Yup, oh and if you do use lots of plants make sure they are EVERYWHERE! I mean floating, regular rooted plants and plants near the bottom of the tank floor, the babies will be random from what i seen in the past, I See babies float to the top like a baloon or sink to the bottom like a rock so make sure you have lots and lots of plant cover

Nope, fakes are okay, reals are too it really doesn't matter as long as they can hide the babies, if they are small and fine leafy then its good, plants like fake cabomba are good but anything that can cover the babies up is great. I noticed some sorta of mat at some of these stores that can be floated or made to stay at the bottom like a mat which looks good and I saw something like it in the wild on a Discovery channel TV show (i was bored;D)
