Common Name: Maroon Clownfish Other Common Names: Maroon Clown, White Stripe Anemonefish, Gold Stripe Clown, Spinecheek Clown Origin: Indo-Pacific Size: 5 to 6 inches Temperature: 75-78 degrees Fahrenheit Ph: 8.3-8.4
Description: The Maroon Clown Fish is a hardy and beautiful marine fish that can make an interesting addition to marine aquariums
Maroon Clown Fish are reef safe. Their compatibility with other fish may be limited because most will not tolerate other Clown Fish, unless they are a mated pair. Most Maroon Clowns will get along well with fish of other species, though their temperaments can vary between individuals. Maroon Clowns tend to be protective of their anemones, and are usually paired with Bubble Tip Anemones.
Specific Care Information: A hiding place or host anemone of the species Heteractis quadricolor, Heteractis magnifica, or Macrodactyla doreensis should be provided. The diet of a Maroon Clown should consist of a variety of foods. Both meat and vegetable items should be offered.
Breeding: Pretty hard but The Maroon Clown is bred commercially in captivity, for the pet trade which was surprising to me even.
