Hey Guys and Gals
(Not sure where to post this, it involves Cichlids and Livebearers) My friend just gave me 7 Red Platy fry and I have them in my fry tank with krib fry, I have had Guppy fry but never Platy.
My question is How big should the Platy be now at the ripe old age of 3 months ?
The Krib fry I have are 5 weeks old and are a touch bigger then the Platy, is that normal or are they smaller then they should be ?

platies are smaller then the kribs when they grow so that'll happen, i really don't know how big they are at 3 months, but as long as there isn't aggression then your fine.

when platys are about 6 months they are ready to be put in tanks, with compatible fish, I don't know much about kribs, but they will probably out grow the platys in about a couple months or so. do you have any community tanks to put the platys in?

Thanks guys, I just wondered if they were the right size, my friend has had them in a breeders net for 3 months. Once they are all big enough I am gonna sell them to the LFS

Well you cant always go by that, depends on what you feed them, i fed them crushed flakes and had them in a breeding net, which also causes size difference because its so small. but yea they are most likely on track, even if they arent it would just take a couple of extra months for them to get big enough. your good, congrats
