There was an extremely small opening I coudn't put the plastic strip that came with the glass top on to cover the space up and my family didn't think it could get out So I had no help... But I tried(with help) to put it on today but it wouldn't fit correctly(after I found the fish... so I'm open for suggestions on how to cover the space in the back that the glass doesn't cover.

I use those pieces from my tanks hood and they work, LMM said construction paper and it works, I would also use a piece of cardboard paper since its more sturdy and if you do cut it to fit it make sure you put it in a plastic sandwich bag so the water that evaporates won't make it all soggy and make it fall into the tank
