LOL, I really can't find too many cardinals around me, the ones I find are weak and they charge like 2.50 - 3 dollars for one! I'dstick with neons but I just want to do that just yet, I plan on growing some aponogeton after I get the bulbs for them ;D I know otos don't make too much waste.

Harlequins are the best rasbora ive found, they stay about ---------- long, and stay tightly schooled, and have stayed schooling since i bought them. They are the true schooling fish, and school there whole life, unlike some, that stop schooling after a while. They also get a beautiful neon orange stripe (not dyed) They are great active fish, that dont stop moving my betta also has never had any problems with them, (beware of otos, they sometimes hook onto the bettas fins, and will shred them to pieces) Rasboras are also very low waste, and you can get 4 or 5 in your tank, which is a good school. i think like 2-3 harlequins equal 1 platy in bio load, so they are minimal, thats why i could add 2 more to my tank, so i have 6 now

hmm, good point, are you sure otos do that to the bettas? I never seen the one my cousin had go near the betta or guppy (they guppies were kept at a different time)

I have never seen my Otto's attach themselves to fish or heard that they do, I thought it was only CAE that did that.

I have safely kept ottos with my bettas, even in my divided tanks. One with each betta. But, I have to supplement feed them. Kuhli loaches are a good choice with a betta and are very easy on the bioload.

I used to think that it was 1 per ten gallon, but some say 3-4 per ten gallon. Either way I will feed them lettuce and spinach and other greens. But what else do you all think I should get?

okay, so I have to take the loaches off the list cause my lfs doesn't get them much, plus they had some but they weren't looking so good, so I think I'll stick with 3 otos and 2-3 cory cats. Hows that sound?I will get some driftwood and stuff, after i plant my tank ;D

Let's see... you already have a betta and two platies. You are going to add 3 ottos and 2 or 3 corys?
THat is going to put you over the limit on stocking inches. It can be done, but you will have very little margin for error.
I would get either the cories or the ottos, but not both. JMO. ;D
